Arches National Park

Wednesday January 19 by Claudia bourne
For some, the word "arches" may invoke visions of greasy fast food, but for many it instead conjures the image of one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world. Nowhere but Arches National Park outside Moab in southern Utah, can you find this many natural sandstone wonders. Many of the park's formations are easily accessed by car. A paved two-lane road runs about 18 miles one-way through the park with plenty of places to stop and numerous trails along the way. The only way to see all of Arches is to park (for a week) and hike at leisure as there are some 2,000 arches in all.
